F M. Whiting & Company was founded in 1878 in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. In 1896 it became Frank M. Whiting & Company. In 1897 the Frank M. Whiting & Company was incorporated. In 1926 the company was purchased by the Gorham Co. and was relocated to Providence, Rhode Island.
